Training Venues.
Having access to an appropriately designed practical training venue is critical to the success of the capacity development of a USAR or other technical rescue team.
During the consultation period, DART will gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique requirements. Customised USAR training facilities will meet and exceed the INSARAG requirements to conduct large-scale, overnight, simulated field exercises.
Training venues need to provide the following facilities:
- Administration facilities
- Classroom/s facilities
- Toilet/shower facilities
- Storage facilities:
– Equipment
– Old vehicle/household contents used for props - Practical Training Areas:
– Practical training props – props need to be designed in such a way that they resemble real-life scenarios that the team is likely to encounter during an actual deployment
– Props need to be designed in such a way that they can be easily reset or reconfigured
– The INSARAG Guidelines require that the exercise during the IEC be designed so that the scenarios are part of a constantly evolving, realistic exercise. Isolated skills demonstration props are not acceptable

Concept and Design phase
Using 3D modelling, designed to scale, so that our clients have a realistic appreciation of what the completed construction project will look like. Applying and peeling back layers also allow our client to see exactly what is below the surface.

Construction phase
This phase integrates the core construction with the sacrificial components of the structure that will be demolished during training and simulation exercises.

Completion phase
This final phase includes the “dressing” to ensure the scenario is as realistic as possible.
