INSARAG.
Developing a USAR team is a complex, time and financially intensive endeavor, not to be undertaken lightly. There are multiple elements that need to be developed in order to ensure a USAR team is eligible for and meets all of the requirements mandated by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) Guidelines and methodology.
The INSARAG Guidelines articulate “What teams are required do”, DART partners with its valued clients to support them through the processes of “How to do it” culminating in an INSARAG External Classification / Reclassification (IEC/R).
About INSARAG
INSARAG, introduced the INSARAG External Classification (IEC), a voluntary, peer-reviewed assessment of internationally deployable USAR capability, based on the INSARAG Guidelines, in 2005. DART’s founder and managing director has been involved with the IEC process since inception, having participated as a Classifier in the inaugural IEC in Hungry. The INSARAG Guidelines required that a classified USAR team undergo a reclassification, INSARAG External Reclassification (IER), every five years. One of the stipulated requirements for USAR teams seeking to undergo an IEC/R is the need to engage the services of an external mentor, a service DART is exceedingly well placed to provide.
DART Solutions has extensive experience within the INSARAG system, its SME’s actively participating in the INSARAG system by contributing to INSARAG Guideline Reviews, the INSARAG Medical Working Group (MWG), INSARAG Operations Working Group (OWG) and the INSARAG Training Working Group (TWG). In addition to its SME’s successfully mentoring USAR teams in Australia; Belgium; China; Germany; New Zealand; Spain; Sweden and the USA, DART has extensive experience developing USAR capacity in the Middle East region, with successful projects being delivered on time and within budget in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
